Bio: Derrick Cox is a Principal Software Engineer and AI Researcher with fifteen years of experience building mission-critical systems across defense and aerospace. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Maine and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Wright State University. His expertise spans ML architecture development, Kubernetes infrastructure, computational fluid dynamics, and transformer-based research — including novel approaches to educational bias detection and community intelligence analysis. A nearly two-decade Air National Guard veteran, Derrick combines deep mathematical rigor with strong technical leadership and a genuine passion for mentoring the next generation of engineers.
