Amelia Whorton

Bio: Amelia Whorton is a biomedical sciences PhD student working at the intersection of human–computer interaction and machine learning (ML). Her research combines wearable sensor data analysis, Python-based interface development, and ML pipelines to model and predict user engagement in ways that are interpretable. She is committed to transparency and accessibility — bridging the gap between experimental scientists and the CS community by making science approachable for everyone. She advocates for disability-friendly STEM, bringing that same openness to her mentorship, and community engagement.
